\n\n\n\n
Liou-Guei High School's choir was established in 2009, after Typhoon Morakot wrecked havocs in southern Taiwan and took over 600 lives. With a student population mostly from traditionally underserved regions, the choir's success was one of the most heartwarming stories that came out of the tragic event. Specializing in traditional music from the Taiwanese aboriginal tribes and folk songs in the Hokkien and Hakka dialects, the group has won numerous regional and national awards over the years. It also toured Japan in 2015 and in 2017, at the Karuizawa International Choral Festival. 2019 marks the choir's ten-year anniversary, and the young musicians will bring their spirit of hope and renewal to Weiwuying.
