A heavy-weight program for Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks's Kaohsiung debut
In its Kaohsiung debut, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra will present a program focusing on Romanticism composers, including Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 7 in D minor, Op 70” and Richard Strauss’s “Ein Heldenleben, Op 40”. Regularly voted by critics as the top ten orchestras in the world, BRSO has won numerous awards, including a Grammy’s in 2006, and is instrumental in establishing Munich as a major cultural center in Southern Germany. Mariss Jansons, BRSO’s longtime conductor, is known for his wide-ranging sound spectrum. He is one of the most the most in-demand conductors in the world, having worked with Berliner Philharmoniker, Vienna Philharmonic, among others.
