Dancing with Nature: A Site-Specific Movement Workshop
Dr. Elizabeth Cameron DALMAN, together with PENG Hsiao-yin and Vivienne ROGIS will lead a workshop that invites you to consider nature as your dance partner. In a creative process including immersion, reflection, partnership, imagination & intuition we will work outside to create movement inspired by the landscape we are in. Let Nature and your environment move you to craft and create together.
Practical considerations: Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and is appropriate to the weather on the day. Bring a drink bottle, a note book and pens/pencils.

Elizabeth is an Australian Dance Elder with a professional career spanning more than 60 years. She founded Australian Dance Theatre in 1965 and was its Artistic Director for 10 years. She is currently Director of Mirramu Creative Arts Centre and Artistic Director of Mirramu Dance Company. She continues her dance research and writing, dance teaching, directing and performance practice.
Elizabeth has performed and taught throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the UK, the US, Africa and South East Asia, particularly in Taiwan. Elizabeth's first visit to Taiwan was in 1971. She has kept up her connections with the dance community there ever since.
In 2025 Elizabeth was awarded an AM for her significant contribution to contemporary dance in Australia. In 2015 she was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Australian Dance Awards and in 2023 she was awarded the medal of Chevalière de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture in Paris.
Vivienne ROGIS

Vivienne ROGIS is a movement artist and clinical pilates practitioner. A graduate of The Western Australian Academy of Arts, she also holds a BA in Social Research Methods and a Masters in Visual Anthropology. With this background in social theory and research methods, her career is driven by a passionate belief in the power of dance as a mode of communication & expression that facilitates the self-reflexive growth of individuals and communities. Her independent creative work focuses on non-traditional venues and contexts for dance, developing short dance installations, site specific dance performances & films and full-length works in diverse places and spaces. She is an experienced teacher and facilitator of youth dance and community based dance projects and enjoys sharing her passion for movement with all. Vivienne founded Mirramu Dance Company with Dr Elizabeth Cameron Dalman in 2000 and has been collaborating closely with Dr Dalman for nearly 30 years.
PENG Hsiao-yin (Grace)

PENG Hsiao-yin (Grace) is the Artistic Director of Dancecology and founder of Dancescreen Collective Taiwan. She is a choreographer, dance-film director, and dance teacher. Peng received a B.A. in Agronomy and M.F.A. in Choreography. Her practice focuses on the connection between nature's ecosystem and dancers' movements. She enjoys developing interdisciplinary and intergenerational works, teaching and dancing with different people. She won the 2017 1-min dance-film competition of Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival. With her company Dancecology she has been touring internationally with performances and film screenings in Taiwan, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Malaysia, Nepal, Norway, USA, China, Netherlands and Mexico. Grace has worked with Dr Elizabeth Cameron Dalman since 2006. At that time Elizabeth gave her two seeds — Dance and Ecology — which changed her life forever and guided her creative practice to where it is today. Since 2012, Dancecology has visited Dr Dalman and Mirramu annually.
