Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan ALL EARS by CHENG Tsung-lung
Talent and skill require no translation... it's only right that they should be shared with the rest of the world.——The New York Times When you're talking about Cloud Gate, magic is not too strong a word.——Time Out Dancers of the Cloud Gate possess a control and articulation that verge on the superhuman…In fact, they have the power to change your metabolism.——Chicago Sun-Times |
ALL EARS
A 2025 New Work by CHENG Tsung-lung
Performed by Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan
Sound is an invisible dancer around us.
In ALL EARS, choreographer CHENG Tsung-lung brings sound to life through movement.
Everyday sounds—familiar and unfamiliar—connect deeply with the dancers, turning each moment into an experience that is felt, not just heard.
On an empty stage, the space becomes a vessel for sound, shaping the environment as dancers move instinctively and unpredictably.
Sound designer TU Duu-chih, TU Chun-tang and composer Esteban FERNANDEZ create an immersive sound world, where each sound becomes tangible, influencing both atmosphere and movement. Visual design by Jam WU, laser design by Aka CHANG, lighting design by SHEN Po-hung and costumes design by CHEN Shao-yen enhance this sensory environment, inviting the audience to experience listening as a form of expression.
ALL EARS is a theatre of listening, where dance is not only seen, but heard and felt.
