[2025 Weiwuying International Music Festival] Weiwuying Contemporary Music Ensemble - Musical Games
Masters deconstruct and reconstruct contemporary works, blending dramatic narratives, surrealistic imagination, and diverse cultural music. This concert, led by American maestro LUBMAN, features a half-century of contemporary music, including the premiere of After March by LIU, 2025 Composer Selection winner.
ZIMMERMANN, a "pioneer of collage music," vividly portrays puppet show scenes with dramatic musical language and versatile instrumentation. YUN blends Western modern techniques with Eastern philosophy, using serial methods to dissect the pentatonic scale and mimic traditional Korean instruments. SMOLKA, known for his poetic style and humor, creates a surreal world in Hats in the Sky and contrasts tension in En tractant by transitioning from a slow funeral march to chaotic madness.
Program

Bernd Alois ZIMMERMANN: Das Gelb und das Grün, Musik zu einem Puppentheater (Taiwan Premiere)
