The experience will be enhanced with opportunities to switch seats for different acoustics, complementary performances on other keyboard instruments, special lighting effects, and informative explanations. These features aim to make the organ's diversity and charm more accessible and understandable to the audience.

\n\n\n\t\t\t 6/14(Wed)14:30-15:30 \n\n\t\t\tFurry Friends Carnival \n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t In June, come and go wild with the organ as it livens up from SAINT-SAËNS' Carnival of the Animals. Then, we'll see some more fun and unique organ interpretations with scores from Studio Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro and The Cat Returns, along with the music from the classic video game Super Mario Bros. To close this wild hour of animal-themed music, Dr. LIU will play French composer C. WIDOR's Toccata (from his Symphony No. 5), with its highly complex melody that the organ makes even more captivating. \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|

\n\t\t\t 2/22(Wed)14:30-15:30 \n\n\t\t\tEternal Love - Baroque Concertos (close-up show) \n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t For the romantic atmosphere of Valentine's Day, February's event will showcase solo organ performances of two of history's most well-known songs, WAGNER's "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin and MENDELSSOHN's "Wedding Procession" from A Midsummer Night's Dream—you might just think you should be throwing rice and crying! The show will produce a different, but by no means inferior, feel compared with the commonly heard orchestra versions. \n\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\t\t To emphasize this distinction, BACH's Concerto in D Minor and WALTHER's Concerto in B Minor (adaptations of concertos by VIVALDI) will fully express the diversity of the organ's timbre. In addition, BACH's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and MÜTHEL's Fantasie in F Major for Organ will add to the warmth and joy of the program. \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t 3/29(Wed)14:30-15:30 \n\n\t\t\tBach Do-Re-Mi \n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t Baroque composer BACH, known as the "father of classical music" and a household name in our day, was mostly famed as an organist in his own time. At the age of 18, he became the church organist and, as a devout Christian, wrote numerous hymns requiring exceptional skill. For the Explore the Pipe Organ event in March, five exquisite pieces by BACH, "Sheep May Safely Graze"and "Sleepers Awake," as well as three exciting and technically challenging prelude and fugues, will present the marvel of BACH's organ music. \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t 4/26(Wed)14:30-15:30 \n\n\t\t\tDancing Organ \n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t With the advent of the Romantic period, composers became unshackled from the royal courts, which inspired more diversity in their music, that for the organ being no exception. For April's Dancing Organ program, organist Dr. LIU and Sean JACKSON will partner up in presenting France's Romantic period and adding interesting twists via other instruments: SAINT-SAËNS' Danse Macabre, Op. 40 will be performed on the harpsichord, creating a sense of fantasy, DEBUSSY's"Clair de lune" will be given a different atmosphere on the piano, and RAVEL's Boléro will be played jointly by both musicians on the organ (along with the well-known accompaniment of the snare) as proof of how the organ can indeed take the place of an entire orchestra. Meanwhile, French composer FRANCK's Prélude, Fugue and Variation will be performed on the positive organ and piano. You'll only see such a "family gathering" of keyboard instruments at Weiwuying's 2023 Explore the Pipe Organ series of events! \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t 5/10(Wed)14:30-15:30 \n\n\t\t\tInterstellar Journey \n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|
\n\t\t\t By the 20 th century, no longer relegated to the most sophisticated of venues, the organ had become an inseparable source of inspiration for popular music. One of film score composer John WILLIAMS' most famous pieces, "Imperial March" from Star Wars, grows even more resolute when played on the organ. "Interstellar Suite," composed by Golden Globe winner for Best Original Score Hans ZIMMER, produces a stark contrast between the boundlessness of the universe and the smallness of humanity by stacking notes on the organ. You can get a similar feeling from modern composers O. MESSIAN's L' Ascension and J. ALAIN's Litanies, which exhibit how modern religious music was brought closer to its human audience. You won't want to miss this journey through space with the organ in May! \n\t\t\t | \n\t\t|

\n'},{title:"The pipe organ",content:"The pipe organ is one of the world's oldest instruments, dating back to as early as the 3 rd century BC in Greece. Since it has a majestic, dignified sound, which is even more pronounced by the echo in large churches, along with its variance in timbre, it became an important presence in Christianity beginning in the Middle Ages, in turn prompting the composition of a great number of pieces over time.
\n\n\n\n
As missionaries brought their faith out of Europe, the organ followed to churches all over the world—over 30 can be found in Taiwanese churches. Now that Western classical music is a popular genre, almost all concert halls are built with an organ, allowing people all over to hear the grandeur of this fascinating instrument.
\n\n\n\n
Similarly, an organ was also put into the plans for Weiwuying.Century-old German organ manufacturer Johannes Klais Orgelbau built the instrument, which has 9,085 pipes and 127 stops, over a period of a bit more than three years. It is both the largest organ in Asia and the only concert hall organ in the world with the capacity to be played by three organists at the same time.Being perfectly blended into the vineyard seating as the cherry on top, it never fails to stun world-class organists from around the globe!
