Violin|CHANG Shan-hsin
CHANG Shan-hsin born in Taiwan in 1993, is a solo violinist and founder of Duo Hsinka. After studies with Marc DANEL and Rudolf KOELMAN at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon and Zurich University of the Arts, he has received numerous international awards, including both the 1st Prize in Violin and in Chamber Music at the 16th International Competition "Luigi Zanuccoli" in 2018. As a soloist, he has performed with professional orchestras including Musikkollegium Winterthur, ZHdK Strings, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Counterpoint Ensemble and LongTan Philharmonic Orchestra etc,. Alongside his solo and chamber music career, he serves on the faculty of the Tainan National University of the Arts and National Tsing Hua University.
Violin|Eric TSAI
Eric TSAI is an up and coming Taiwanese-American violinist whose playing has been described as both "dashing" and "heart-wrenching;" and whose thoughtful performances has earned him a place on stages across the globe. The second prize winner of the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, Eric has garnered critical acclaim as a soloist and chamber player, as well as a champion of Taiwanese music.
Wherever he performs, Eric is deeply committed to spreading hope and light to audiences around the world through his art. Starting in 2025, Eric joined the internationally renowned Callisto Quartet as their new first violinist, assuming a busy touring and teaching schedule with the quartet.
Counterpoint Ensemble
In 1997, LIANG Kung-ling, the Art Director and founder of Counterpoint Ensemble, gathered the impassioned, professional musicians and built up the Ensemble in Southern Taiwan. The Ensemble has not only performed in chamber music, but also created interdisciplinary program, in which the Ensemble works with visual artists, dancers, and actors to express classical music in the diversified circumstances.
Counterpoint Ensemble had performed in several concert halls in Taiwan, including Kaohsiung and Taipei, also acquired commendation from government for almost a decade. Furthermore, the Ensemble has received commendation from Taiwan Ministry of Culture for 6 years, being the recognition for the Ensemble's effort and quality.
The Ensemble has been invited by the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival to perform annually for 9 years, also several significant festivals, including TSMC Hsin-Chu Arts Festival, and Tainan Summer Outdoor Music Festival. Recently, the Ensemble embarked on its overseas tour to China and held three sold-out concerts in Soo Chow, Shanghai and Chun Shan, also Beijing Arts Festival. And has been invited to participate in the Alesund Chamber Music Festival in 2017. In addition, we have been invited by National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) in recent years to perform series of concerts, including "Live in Concert", 24 Hours SCHUBERT, 24 Hours MOZART and 24 Hours BEETHOVEN.
