\n音樂廳的管風琴由德國百年歷史管風琴製造廠Johannes Klais Orgelbau承製,9,085支音管為全臺灣最大規模管風琴。外貌設計與音樂廳內裝風格融為一體,主管風琴(symphonic organ)及回聲管風琴(echo organ)兩大部分採不對稱配置,為觀眾帶來前所未有的視覺與聽覺震撼。
Concert Hall
\n\nThe Concert Hall features a unique vineyard style. The unique design allows audience at various heights to enjoy the same optimal acoustic and visual effects, taking care of each and every member in the audience. The seating arrangement encircles the stage, bringing the audience closer to the stage for more intimate experiences with conductors and performers.
\n\nThe main stage consists of 5 rows of a total of 15 orchestra lifts. Hung above the stage are acoustic shells that can be lowered or raised, which come with three pre-set positions at 9m, 14m and 17.8m, to go along with various requirements of musical performances and sizes of bands. The height and angle of the acoustic shells can also be freely adjusted to meet any needs, ensuring that audience can enjoy sounds of the best quality.

\nThe pipe organ at the Concert Hall is manufactured by Johannes Klais Orgelbau. The product of the century-old German manufacturer consists of 9,085 pipes, making it the largest pipe organ in Taiwan. The exterior design is consistent with the style of the interior, and the asymmetrical arrangement of the symphonic organ and echo organ creates unprecedented sensational impact to the audience.

戲劇院
\n\n戲劇院主要作為各種戲劇、舞蹈表演的演出空間,備有鏡框式以及三面式兩種舞台型式。
\n\n突出式三面舞台設計拉近觀眾與演出者的距離,觀眾能近距離感受表演者的喜怒哀樂,提高雙方互動,深刻體會戲劇張力。單面鏡框式舞台搭配升降樂池,變化為突出式三面舞台,延伸進觀眾席。
\n\n戲劇院是一個由電腦輔助運作的劇場空間,如同歌劇院,整體由荷蘭劇場顧問設計規劃,並由奧地利廠商Waagner-Biro進行施工細部發展及製造安裝。舞台前方配置有8組升降機及可拆卸活動座席,可自由的於突出式三面舞台、全觀眾席或部分觀眾席/部分樂池等型態間切換。三面舞台的右側區塊也另有三組升降平台,除了可配置為一般觀眾席位外,當舞台做突出式設置時,亦可轉化為樂師演奏區,以保留傳統戲劇演出樂師與舞台表演者親近的特性。

The stage can be configured into proscenium or thrust stage. The thrust stage design shortens the distance between the audience and performers, so that the audience can perceive the emotions of the performers at close proximity; the design facilitates interaction between the audience and performers, allowing the audience to feel the dramatic tensions. The proscenium stage with the orchestra pit elevator has a capacity of 1,231 seats; when configured into thrust stage that stretches into the seating area, the Playhouse can accommodate 1,067 seats.

The Playhouse is a theatrical space with computer-aided operation. Just like the Opera House, the overall design is carried out by a Dutch theater consulting firm, and detailed construction, manufacturing and installation are carried out by Austrian firm Waagner-Biro. In front of the stage are eight elevating platforms and removable seats, enabling the stage to be configured into thrust stage, seating area, or an area that is partially seating area and partially orchestra pit. The area to the right of the thrust stage features another three elevating platforms, which, other than being used as normal seating area, they can also be converted into performing area for musicians when the stage stretches into the seating area, in order to preserve the unique feature of intimacy between musicians and performers in traditional plays.

\n\n主要作為室內樂、獨奏及其他小型表演類型使用,並可因應多元類型演出,調節室內吸音值,提供最佳的聲學效果。
\n\n型態上是傳統鞋盒型音樂廳的轉化,一道矮牆由觀眾席中央畫過,將表演廳轉成動態活潑的不對稱鞋盒,同時提供了觀眾席前側的直接音反射。因應多類型演出,廳內吸音值可跟著變化。表演廳上半部穿孔木板後方,環繞著活動吸音簾,依演出類型決定使用面積,提供最佳的聲學效果。

\n\nThe Recital Hall is mainly for chamber music, solo recitals, or other smaller performances. The sound-absorption can be adjusted to meet the needs with diverse types of performances, providing the most optimal acoustic effect.
\n\nThe design is a variation of the traditional shoebox style, where a short partition wall is erected along the center line of the seating area to convert the Recital Hall into a vibrantly asymmetrical shoebox, while also providing reflection of direct sounds for the front seating area. To meet the needs of various types of performances, the sound-absorption value can be adjusted accordingly in the Recital Hall. An entire circle of sound-absorbing drapery behind the perforated wooden panels surrounds the upper half of the Recital Hall. The size of the drapery used is determined by performance genres so as to offer a superb acoustic effect.

\n\n榕樹廣場是衛武營廳院間的半戶外公共空間,如樹穴般的連續自由曲面,結合造船技術建造,塑造榕樹下乘涼的空間意象。建築師法蘭韾.侯班以衛武營枝椏糾結,根鬚盤錯的老榕樹群為靈感來源,轉化為富有穿透感、呼吸節奏的廣場空間,也是整體建築的靈魂。

公共鋼琴
\n\n衛武營的公共鋼琴為平台鋼琴,放置於榕樹廣場靠近歌劇院東側入口位置,開放使用時間為每日早上8點至晚上11點,所有人皆可自由使用不須登記,路過民眾若一時技癢,可自由上座彈奏,與周遭眾人分享音樂的美好。為確保鋼琴演奏品質,館方將定時每日巡檢鋼琴。

\n\nInspired by the lush banyan trees in the park, architect Francine Houben created the design resembling tree trunks and shaded open spaces to allow aerial routes in the Banyan Plaza.

\n\n坐落在建築南側,比鄰衛武營都會公園。以天空為幕,曲面結構從地面延伸至屋頂,並將風向與景觀納入設計思考。除了坐擁觀賞夕陽絕佳視野,開放式空間更能感受到薰風吹拂。無邊際的曲面線條與座席,打破一般演藝空間的設計,是讓眾人欣賞更多元性演出的非典型劇場空間。

With the sky as its curtain, the curved structure stretches from the ground to the roof; the design also has taken into considerations of wind directions and landscape. In addition to the magnificent sunset view, the open space further enables wind to breeze through. The borderless curvy line and the seats break the design conventions of performance space, and the Amphitheater is an atypical theatrical space where the audience are able to appreciate more diverse performances.
